At the start of beach season, what more could you want than a cold beverage in your hand and, of course, your health? Iced tea lead Prenovate searches this week, presumably, for that very reason. While we're fans of keeping cool, we pay attention to what we put into our bodies, and we know you do too.
Although bottled Lipton Iced Tea was a community favorite, Arizona Iced Tea is a slightly better match for most kidney diets because it has less than half the potassium of Lipton. That being said, the added sugars in both brands mean that neither is an ideal choice- especially for people managing type 2 diabetes along with chronic kidney disease.
In order to control your sugar intake, try using a black tea bag to brew your own iced tea. Instead of adding table sugar, add lemon or strawberries for flavor.
